„I am especially grateful for all the wonderful people I was able to meet through the academy and on our study trip. Those encounters touched me deeply and have left a lasting mark on me.“

Let me start by simply saying thank you – for all the trainings, the wonderful continuing education courses, the inspiring Dharma Chats and, of course, most of all for the 2024 study trip. That journey changed my life in ways I could hardly have imagined beforehand. What once began out of pure personal interest and a thirst for knowledge has grown into something so much bigger. I became self-employed and launched Namaste-Kitchen, the project closest to my heart.

I started out with cooking classes, alongside my regular job as a nurse. Since December 2024, however, I have been able to devote myself almost entirely to Ayurveda: cooking classes, catering, workshops, collaborations with yoga studios, as well as dosha assessments and lifestyle consultations. And with an upcoming move to new premises I am about to expand further.

For all of this I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you, this path would not have been possible in this way.

„Ayurveda has always recognised that nutrition as well as mental strain and social interaction influence our health. That prompted me to make it my mission to show people that they hold their own health in their hands.“

„The greatest fulfilment for me is being able to respond to each person's individual needs – whether that is relaxation, expertise, or simply a listening ear.“

What originally led you to Ayurveda?

I have always been interested in traditional systems of healing, and in Ayurveda specifically for a very long time. My own history of illness eventually led me to an Ayurvedic physician. Some years ago I received a tentative diagnosis, and a long period of medication and doctor's appointments followed. Today I am – so far – fortunately free of thyroid medication.

How has the knowledge you gained enriched your personal life?

Ayurveda has enriched my life, and at times also made it harder. It took a while before I really learned how to handle what I had been taught and how to differentiate. The knowledge enriches my life a great deal – as long as I stay true to myself and don't take everything too strictly.

Today you accompany clients in your own practice. What is the greatest fulfilment in this work for you – and which values do you particularly want to pass on?

The greatest fulfilment for me is being able to respond to each person's individual needs – whether that is relaxation, expertise, or simply a listening ear.

What I want to convey is that there is no single healthy path; that everyone has to find out individually what is good for them and what is not. Ayurveda can be a guide, and I am glad to accompany people with impulses – but the decision to change something always rests with each person themselves.

„What fascinates me about Ayurveda is that it looks at each person individually. This ancient knowledge combines harmoniously with modern needs and does not just address symptoms but starts at the root of a complaint. Often small steps are enough to bring noticeable improvement.“

„The REAA is a wonderful training institute, hotel and health centre. The expertise about Ayurveda, spread across so many minds, is virtually inexhaustible. Every conversation is an inspiration in itself.“

Ayurveda has left a lasting mark on my life. After changing the way I live, I came across Ayurveda in 2019. Following a Panchakarma cure I wanted to learn more about Ayurveda and signed up at the very start of 2020 for the trainings "Nutrition and Health Consultant" and "Psychological Ayurveda Consultant". I have already completed the health consultant course successfully. It is fascinating what I was able to learn in that year, 2020, and how much has been known within Ayurveda for 5,000 years. Even now I actively apply Ayurveda in my work as a coach and mental trainer, and I enrich many clients with my knowledge and my personal experience.

The REAA is a wonderful training institute, hotel and health centre. The expertise about Ayurveda, spread across so many minds, is virtually inexhaustible. Every conversation is an inspiration in itself. The atmosphere – I attended some webinars and was able to take part in the Summer Academy in Birstein – is special and gives a great deal of strength and energy. What is particularly lovely is that I made new friends in Birstein.

„My own experience of the lastingly positive effect of healthy nutrition and a balanced way of living according to Ayurvedic principles has strengthened and supported me in terms of health, on the physical as well as the mental level.“

Christiane Olschyna-Inge is a holistic Ayurvedic nutrition and health coach (IHK), a meditation teacher and a mindfulness coach.

In 2018 she opened her own practice for holistic nutrition and health, AyurTaste, in the heart of Büdingen.

Christiane, why Ayurveda?

My own experience of the lastingly positive effect of healthy nutrition and a balanced way of living according to Ayurvedic principles has strengthened and supported me in terms of health, on the physical as well as the mental level.

When I first encountered the subject of Ayurveda some years ago and began to familiarise myself with its philosophy and its holistic teaching, I learned a great deal about the effect that our environment and our way of living and eating have on our body and mind in daily life.

It became clear to me that my body can only withstand the demands the present day makes on us if it is properly equipped, balanced and stabilised.

In Ayurveda I found all the tools my body needed, and so I integrated it more and more into my everyday life.

In the video you will find more information about her career, her vision and her love of Ayurveda.

„I want to thank Kerstin and her team for bringing me even closer to my love of yoga and Ayurveda, and for bringing out my hidden talents and my calling.“

After a year and a half in Switzerland and a small trip around Europe, my partner and I landed back in northern Germany, and I added the 500-hour yoga training in Berlin straight afterwards. Alternating between Berlin and the beautiful natural campus in Birstein – where Mady Morrison has already enjoyed an Ayurveda cure with a digital detox – I completed my 500-hour yoga teacher training at the European Academy of Ayurveda after a total of three and a half years, in accordance with the guidelines of the German professional association of yoga teachers.

And at this point I want to thank Kerstin and her team for bringing me even closer to my love of yoga and Ayurveda, and for bringing out my hidden talents and my calling. This was not the last training or further course with you in Birstein.

„What I find fascinating about Ayurveda is that it is a science which carries within it the knowledge and experience of many thousands of years, and which is based on principles that still hold true today.“

„I uncovered old imprints and patterns, said goodbye to long-outdated beliefs and ways of thinking and behaving, and finally arrived at my "SELF". And there I was! Newborn and yet the same, only richer by many experiences.“

So this is where my journey into a wide, unknown, magical land began. Full of curiosity and joy I immersed myself in the wonderful Vedic sciences, with all my senses. I attended seminars in Ayurvedic massage, nutrition and psychology, and – alongside my work in television – trained as a Heilpraktikerin and as a systemic coach. I was able to learn from great personalities and lecturers who conveyed Ayurveda to me in an authentic, extremely lively and expert way. Above all Kerstin Rosenberg. With her cheerful, light-hearted teaching and her easy, entertaining way of presenting, she touches people's hearts and lives Ayurveda in front of them. Contagious health!

During my time in Birstein I was given an astonishingly precise guide to more health, more awareness and more quality of life. And so I learned to take good care of myself in times of professional stress, brought regularity into my eating, moved a great deal in nature and went into stillness when I wanted to recharge. I uncovered old imprints and patterns, said goodbye to long-outdated beliefs and ways of thinking and behaving, and finally arrived at my "SELF". And there I was! Newborn and yet the same, only richer by many experiences.

Today I know: what matters is not what we do, but how we do it. Our personal development is our gift to the world!

„What I find particularly special is the atmosphere in Birstein, because you can feel the love with which you and your staff go about your work. The food, the furnishings, the attention to detail and the positive atmosphere.“

I was already enthusiastic about Ayurveda before, but now there is no stopping me. The way the knowledge is conveyed is, I think, unique. It is only in practising it that you really see what a comprehensive body of knowledge we were given. Clients particularly appreciate the flexible use of Ayurveda too. And we learned all of that in the training, which is built up in a very practice-oriented way.

By now you hear a great deal from other people who have done some "kind of training" elsewhere. From my point of view it simply does not compare. What I find particularly special is the atmosphere in Birstein, because you can feel the love with which you and your staff go about your work. The food, the furnishings, the attention to detail and the positive atmosphere.

It really is a very special place. I can hardly wait to be there again.

„Knowing about the individual constitution and the current situation (vikriti) enables me to shape the yoga class in a way that suits each type from an Ayurvedic point of view as well, and to establish an individual balance.“

What fascinates me about Ayurveda and yoga is that both strive for harmony and completeness of body, mind and soul. Both have the same geographical origin. Yoga in combination with Ayurveda is, for me, an unbeatable combination. With the Ayurvedic knowledge of the individual constitution and the current situation, yoga can be shaped far more individually and far more suitably for the different dosha types. If we look, for example, at a fiery Pitta type who loves challenges above all else, we will quickly find that he needs a different style of yoga than a comfortable Kapha type who prefers to take things very calmly. Knowing about the individual constitution and the current situation (vikriti) enables me to shape the yoga class in a way that suits each type from an Ayurvedic point of view as well, and to establish an individual balance. The more we nourish our body, mind and soul in different ways, the sooner we will develop a holistic and healthy way of living.

My many trainings and further courses have led me step by step to new insights, which I very much enjoy applying in my work with great passion. A life without yoga, Ayurveda and meditation is by now unthinkable for me. The constant practice of and engagement with these sciences carries me through my life and allows me to meet its challenges at work, in everyday life and in the family flexibly, calmly and with humour.

„On the one hand I was very impressed by the high-quality teaching from the distinguished experts whose names I had previously known only from books, and on the other I found myself in the warm-hearted "nourishing tank" of a fantastic group.“

The reason I trust in Ayurveda and build on it is that it shows me again and again that I can only fly as high as I am able to anchor my roots deep in the earth. Ayurveda has also supported me in discovering my inner fire, in not only dreaming of projects and visions but letting them land on earth through action – an ability I had long and painfully missed in my life.

I work mainly with women and likewise support them in finding their fire and going their own way. Ayurveda has a high standing in that, because it provides the solid basis on which we can spread our wings. What I value about this ancient wisdom is, on the one hand, its very individual approach and, on the other, the way it reminds us of the nature common to all of us as human beings: the rhythms and the cycles that have universal validity.

For many people Ayurveda quickly becomes too complicated; they get caught up in details and then soon let it go again. To study the ancient scriptures and understand them in all their depth undoubtedly takes longer than a human lifetime, but that does not apply to putting it into practice in everyday life. To my mind the beauty here lies in the simplicity of Ayurveda and in remembering who and what we are, and what we need right now, in this moment. Awakening this ancient knowledge again in the person in front of me is a matter close to my heart.
