Ayurveda, yoga and medicinal herbs for women's health

Understanding the Female Cycle—and Providing Targeted Support for Common Women’s Health Issues

The female cycle is not a side issue when it comes to health; rather, it is its very rhythm. In each phase, it realigns women—in terms of their energy, mood, digestion, and hormonal balance. Those who can interpret this delicate interplay understand women’s health from its very core.

In this module, you’ll examine the cycle from four different perspectives: the doshas, hormones, yoga therapy, and medicinal plants—and you’ll do so for each phase of the cycle individually. This creates a holistic picture in which Ayurvedic and medical knowledge do not stand side by side, but are intertwined.

We then apply this understanding to common women’s health issues—from PMS to PCOS and endometriosis to fibroids and menopausal symptoms. You’ll learn how these conditions arise and how health can be effectively promoted through herbs, yoga, and pranayama. The module is led by Ayurvedic physician and yoga therapist Silva Zitzmann, who combines medical clarity with holistic practice.
