General questions about training and booking

Which training is right for me? Who can advise me?

At the European Academy of Ayurveda you will find a wide range of Ayurveda trainings and seminars. In order to find the right one for you, you can use our information events on the campus days or also the possibility of a personal training consultation (by phone, video call or here on site).

In addition, we have compiled some information on some of the specialist areas for your orientation:

Ayurvedic Medicine:

The study of Ayurvedic medicine is open to all who have a basic medical education (doctors, non-medical practitioners, nurses, physiotherapists, midwives, etc.). In order to practice Ayurveda medicine later on, you must have a license to practice as a doctor or non-medical practitioner. If you want to study Ayurveda medicine without any previous medical knowledge, you should start with a training as a non-medical practitioner beforehand.

Ayurvedic massage:

You like to work with the body and want to touch body and soul with your hands? Then the Ayurveda massage training is exactly the right thing for you. As you will be working as an Ayurveda massage practitioner or Ayurveda therapist at the massage bench in an Ayurveda clinic or in your own practice, you should make sure that you yourself have a healthy back and strong joints.

Ayurveda Nutrition:

Ayurvedic nutrition and culinary arts trainings are open to all. It's more of a pain to choose the right one from the wide range of online and face-to-face courses. With the introductory course on "Type Appropriate Ayurvedic Nutrition", you can get oriented in the best possible way and then continue in the desired training. The introductory course will fully count towards your further training to become an Ayurvedic Nutrition Coach, Ayurvedic Nutrition and Health Consultant or Ayurvedic Chef.

Psychology and Meditation:

There are two reasons to choose to train as an Ayurvedic Psychological Consultant or Meditation Leader: Either you want to use this practical further training and self-awareness for your own personality development or you are already working with people whom you would like to advise and treat even more intensively with the help of the psychological and spiritual Ayurvedic therapies. Optimal entry is the specialized course for Ayurveda-Mental-Coach.

How can I get in touch with you?

Monday to Friday we are easily reachable by phone from 8.30 am to 4 pm. You are also welcome to send us an email with your request to info@ayurveda-akademie.org.

New: You can now book a consultation appointment online (by phone or video call). We will then reserve a fixed time slot for you and take plenty of time to answer your questions. This is part of our mentoring program.

If you are already sure which seminar/training you would like to attend, you can book directly on the website.

What are the differences between the various forms of learning?

There are three pillars of learning at the European Academy of Ayurveda:

Classroom Seminars:

Here you experience Ayurveda up close at the Ayurveda Campus in Birstein or at our locations in Berlin, Vienna (A), Zurich and Lucerne (CH). The lively teaching, the exchange with students and the inspiring atmosphere will give you valuable impulses for your professional and personal development with Yoga and Ayurveda. Practical contents of massage, cooking or yoga we teach at the European Academy of Ayurveda exclusively in face-to-face classes.

Webinars:

Here you experience lively live teaching together with your instructor and a training group in a virtual classroom from home. Many of our seminars are held as hybrid face-to-face seminars and webinars at the same time, so that you participate in the same classes as the learners on site.

Online eAcademy Training:

This form of learning is completely independent of time and location: Through the Rosenberg eAcademy, you study Ayurveda when and where you want. As soon as you have registered for an online training, you can start learning Ayurveda with the help of varied eMagazines with videos, audios and interactive texts. You will be guided through your online study with complementary live chats and eWorkshops.

What previous knowledge do I need to have?

Generally you do not need any previous knowledge. In our basic seminars we provide you with everything you need to know and the basics to build your study of Ayurveda.

An interest in health, personal development and the subject-specific skills we simply assume.

For the Ayurveda medicine study a medical profession is a basic requirement (doctors, non-medical practitioners, nurses, physiotherapists, midwives etc.), for prospective yoga teachers a regular own yoga practice is an advantage.

I already have previous knowledge of Ayurveda, will this be credited?

If you already have an Ayurveda training, this can be credited as "non-learning achievement" for your further training at the European Academy of Ayurveda. This includes previously acquired knowledge, skills, competencies, which are identical to the teaching content and learning objectives of the offered modules / blocks up to about 80%. The examination of this comparison is subject to a fee. The costs for this are usually € 50,-/CHF 80,-.

For further information, please contact our school management directly ingelore.weidner@ayurveda-akademie.org.

How does the online study of the eAcademy work?

With our online trainings of the eAcademy we offer a completely new form of studying: On the basis of a varied eMagazine you can learn the different contents in a playful way. Various videos, audios and a knowledge database let you dive deep into the topics. And at the end you can check and secure your new knowledge and acquired skills with the help of a learning check.

You can book an online training as an individual seminar or as a training module of your Ayurveda training. The eSeminars have the same content and learning objectives as the face-to-face courses of the same name, so you are free to choose which learning form you would like to use to complete this training module.

How does it work with the exams?

As a competence center for Ayurveda, the Rosenberg Academy stands for a high standard of quality in the transfer of skills. After each training block you can check your learning success with a digital learning check.

At the end of the entire training a final examination with certificate takes place.

At the end of a specialized course - such as Ayurveda Health Coach, Nutrition Coach or Mental Coach - you will complete an online exam with cross-block questions on the practical application of your knowledge in addition to the module learning checks.

At the end of a training course - such as Ayurveda Nutrition and Health Consultant or Ayurveda Massage Practitioner - you will complete a written, oral and, in some cases, practical examination. To prepare for the examination, you will find information on the examination regulations and dates as well as a digital question database with practice questions on our student login.

At the end of advanced training courses and specialist further training courses - such as Ayurveda therapist, nutrition therapist or yoga teacher (500h), a practical examination and/or supervision takes place as part of the last training block.

The examination for the IHK certificate course "Ayurveda Health Coach (IHK)" and "Yoga Health Coach (IHK)" takes place before an examination board of the Hanau Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

What do I need to bring to my face-to-face courses?

Good courage and a thirst for knowledge, writing utensils, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else that supports a mindful and enriching stay on our campus.

Hot water, tea, and thermoses are available to you free of charge throughout the day. You can purchase other beverages and Ayurvedic specialties in our café.

What can I do professionally after my training?

All Ayurveda trainings at the European Academy of Ayurveda are professional trainings that prepare you with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for a professional practice of the learned treatment methods.

The legal framework for the practice of Ayurvedic massage, consultation, coaching and therapy varies according to professional regulations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland:

In Germany, you can use your skills as an Ayurvedic massage practitioner, nutrition and health counselor, psychological Ayurvedic counselor, yoga teacher, or meditation leader independently or as an employee in the field of health strengthening and wellness.

Ayurveda therapy, diagnosis and medical treatments may only be carried out by alternative practitioners and doctors.

In Austria, a trade licence is required for the professional practice of Ayurvedic massages and consultations. You can obtain this with our recognised training as a Dipl. Ayurveda Wellbeing Practitioner in Vienna.

In Switzerland, our Ayurveda training courses lead to official professional recognition as a complementary therapist or naturopath with a federal diploma.

Our free WLAN "Rosenberg Birstein OpenNet" is available around the clock free of charge. You don't need a password to log in. The field strength is best in the winter garden. There is no WLAN connection in the guest rooms, but there is a LAN socket in each of the rooms in the Kurhaus.

Our own parking spaces are located directly opposite the main entrance and in front of the Pension "Schöne Aussicht" as well as above the garden in front of the Kurhaus. Directions and information about public transport can be found under Arrival & Contact.

What is the catering like during my stay?

In Birstein our students enjoy a vegetarian Ayurvedic diet with organic certification. We use mainly seasonal ingredients from regional cultivation.

The authentic Ayurveda cuisine is not vegan, but uses milk, ghee and honey in the daily diet and also as "carriers" of immune-strengthening and vitalizing spices and herbs.

If you would like to enjoy our organic Ayurveda cuisine in a vegan way, you can omit those dishes which have been prepared with ghee.

Please let us know in good time before your arrival if you have any food allergies. Our kitchen will try to take this into consideration.

A gluten-free diet can be easily implemented.
