Touching anatomy in the context of yoga and Ayurveda

Touching anatomy - discover the body in motion

Touching, feeling, touching, pressing, hearing, listening, turning: the tools in our anatomy/physiology course are our senses and mindfulness.
In anatomy, we look at those concepts and structures that communicate with each other directly or indirectly. It is fascinating to observe what happens inside us when we lift one arm and simultaneously raise the foot on the opposite side. However, we also learn to read ongoing emotional stress from postures and, conversely, that we can even evoke altered feelings by aligning the body appropriately.
In order to intensify a massage or a yoga class, to be attentive to injuries or to recognize limitations, we need a sound knowledge of the most important anatomical structures. However, looking at pictures does not allow us to really understand the body on different levels. It is only through playful movement that a vivid image emerges, and only by touching it can we really grasp the different structures.
The course thus creates a 3D view of the body and its connection to space. Ayurvedic and yogic anatomical complexes are captured and experienced with comparative anatomy. Concepts such as dhatus or koshas become understandable when the physical and mental levels can be observed from different perspectives.
