As an Ayurveda expert and coach with many years of experience, people consult me daily with their personal concerns. Health complaints are often the reason for an individual consultation.
Relationship problems as the biggest stress factor
However, even during the initial anamnesis and diagnosis, it quickly becomes clear that it is not a lack of vital substances, digestive problems or bacterial infections that are the real pathogens, but emotional stress in professional and private life that is the overkill for physical and mental balance. The pitfalls of love and relationships in particular are the undisputed number one on the long list of stress-inducing factors.
In order to create a happy partnership from an Ayurvedic perspective, knowledge of the individual constitution of the person is extremely helpful. After all, we all love, live and argue differently depending on our personal constitution and the associated character traits and behavioral structures. If we know the preferences and reaction patterns of the constitution types in relation to love, sexuality and partnership, we can understand ourselves better and choose our dream partner according to our needs.
Even a rudimentary knowledge of the constitutional behavior patterns is extremely useful for shaping a relationship:
A Vata partner, for example, brings a lot of liveliness, creativity, romance and sensitivity to a relationship. They are stimulating companions and know how to respond intensively to all their partner's wishes and levels. Unfortunately, they also tend to be naggingly fickle and question their entire life at regular intervals.
Pitta people are enchanting with their charismatic charisma, fiery passion and brilliant intelligence, but they tend to overshadow the other person. In return, they enable a life of material prosperity, security and success.
With a Kapha partner, they are always well provided for and enjoy a comfortable life with good food and drink. However, requests for change will be met with ignorance and stubbornness.
Which partner suits me?
In principle, all people - regardless of their Dosha constitution - can have good and fulfilling relationships with each other. However, the more clearly we recognize the constitution of ourselves and our partner, the more consciously we can assess the advantages and disadvantages that arise from it. So let's think about what potential our own constitution has and with which relationship type we can best realize our personal life goals and desires.
The most common relationship constellations are made up of different constitutional types. This has the advantage that the other person acts as a balancing pole and brings all the qualities that you lack. If, on the other hand, two of the same constitutional types share a table and a bed, they will feel extremely attracted to each other and in emotional harmony when they first fall in love. However, as soon as the typical relationship conflicts arise, both partners often react very similarly, which can be detrimental to a productive reconciliation.
