Honorary doctorate for Mark Rosenberg

Award from the MAM University in Nadiad, India, for decades of commitment to European Ayurveda

Ehrendoktor-Urkunde für Mark Rosenberg

Mark Rosenberg has been honoured with a great distinction: Maganbhai Adenwala Mahagujarat University (MAM) in Nadiad, India, has awarded the director of the European Academy for Ayurveda an honorary doctorate (D.Litt. h.c.). The formal presentation of the certificate took place on 27 January 2025 as part of a convocation ceremony at MAM University. The award was presented by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Federal Minister for Labour and Youth of the Indian government.

With this honour, the university recognises Mark Rosenberg's decades of commitment to the dissemination of Ayurvedic teachings and his services to the harmonious connection between Indian and German culture. His respectful treatment of traditional Indian healing arts and his contribution to creating a global platform for Ayurveda were particularly emphasised.

The award also underlines the importance of the European Academy for Ayurveda in the authentic teaching of Ayurvedic knowledge. ‘This honour is not only a recognition of my personal work, but also a sign of the growing appreciation of Ayurveda in Europe. It strengthens us as an academy in our mission to teach Ayurveda in a well-founded, practical way and in connection with its traditional roots,’ says Mark Rosenberg, who then gave his first lecture at the university the next day on the topic “Vastu-Shasta and Ayurveda - traditional rules for a healthy (building) body” in front of many students and the faculty of the MAM University.

For the students of the academy, the award is an acknowledgement that their knowledge is based on a solid academic background. The close connection to the country of origin of Ayurveda means, among other things, that graduates of the training in Ayurvedic medicine can obtain an Indian degree as ‘Master of Science in Ayurveda Medicine’ after enrolling at MAM University.
