Ayurvedic Massage and Well-Being Practice

Module 2 of the Ayurvedic Well-Being Practice training enables you to authentically perform traditional massage and oil applications. Demonstrations and practical exercises will teach you how to apply Ayurvedic massage techniques precisely, sensitively and according to type. In addition, you will acquire profound knowledge about the healing science and constitutional theory of Ayurveda.

Please note that the attendance of the massage module alone does not entitle you to practice a trade in Austria.

Learning objectives

Module 2 of the Ayurvedic Wellness Practice combines intensive practical training of Ayurvedic massage techniques with in-depth Ayurvedic knowledge and health coaching. The focus is on the professional application of individual massage therapies for high quality spa and health treatments.

You will learn
- the application of Ayurvedic massage and treatment techniques precisely and with great sensitivity.
- to adapt Ayurvedic full body massages and partial body treatments to the needs of different constitution types.
- to select massage oils and herbal powders according to your type and to adjust them individually to your clients.
- to perform Ayurvedic massages professionally and independently - from room preparation to aftercare of your clients.
- to advise and treat your clients individually with Ayurvedic massages, health recommendations and spices.

Structure

The recognized further training in Ayurveda well-being practice lasts a total of 3 years and includes 765 training hours and a hospitanz.

The modular training structure allows a flexible training process, adapted to the life situation and time possibilities of the participant. We will be happy to advise you!

Contents Module 2
In this module you will develop the ability to perform traditional massage and oil application with hand and heart. A variety of demonstrations and practical exercises with corrections will teach you how to apply Ayurvedic massage techniques precisely, sensitively and according to type. In addition, you will acquire profound knowledge about the philosophy, healing science and constitutional theory of Ayurveda, which will give you a holistic understanding of the applications.

In a modified form, the massage module can also be booked by lateral entrants without prior knowledge of Ayurveda. The training then corresponds to the Birsteiner model. Please note that attending the massage module alone does not entitle you to practice a trade in Austria. In this case you can only use your competences in Ayurvedic massage privately, unless you are authorized to practice massage as a member of a health profession.

Examination
The intermediate examination includes a practical and a theoretical part.

Trade license
In order to obtain the limited trade license Ayurveda wellness practice afterwards, module 1 and 3 must also be attended and the following requirements must be met:

  • complete attendance of all training modules
  • a passed final examination
  • 50 supervised applications during the massage module
  • independent documentation of 100 applications
  • first aid certificate, not older than 5 years

- Effect, application options and treatment techniques of Ayurvedic partial body massages
- Padabhyanga - Ayurvedic foot and leg massage
- Mukabhyanga - Ayurvedic facial massage
- Hastabhyanga - Ayurvedic hand massage
- Demonstration and practice of hand shirodhara (oil forehead pouring), as an integral part of the facial treatment
- Indications, contraindications and intensive practical practice of the massage techniques

Ayurvedic back and dry massage
- Effect, application possibilities and treatment techniques of the Ayurvedic massage techniques Pristhabhyanga (back massage) and Garshan (silk glove massage)
- Explanations, Demonstration and practical practice of the Pristhabhyanga back massage with sequence, grips and strokes
- Introduction to the treatment of local back Marma points
- Release pent-up emotions via the back
- Explanations, demonstration and practical practice of the Garshan silk glove massage in variations to suit the type.
